St Petersburg and the
River Neva,
a
painting of Russia by David Welsh.

Oil on
Board : 26" x 17.5", 66cm x 54cm
Price,
including Frame, £550 The river Neva
runs through the centre of St Petersburg. The buildings on the far side are
mainly the Royal Palaces, including the Hermitage. The gilded domes and
spires rising above them include the Cathedral Over Spilt Blood (also called
the Church of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ), St Isaac's Cathedral, and
the Cathedral of St Peter and St Paul. The month is September, so the river
is not yet frozen over. |
