In his landscape paintings, David Welsh concentrates on the effect of light on fields, buildings, water, and above all on the sky: sunlit clouds, blazing blue heat, menacing storms and cold English winters. Many are set in Oxfordshire and Norfolk, with both of which he has connections. His paintings of cities cover London and Venice and many British and European towns. Sometimes he paints famous buildings, like the Palace of Westminster or the Erechtheum in Athens, sometimes ordinary street scenes. His portraits of people and animals are powerful, lifelike and full of character. He welcomes commissions for portraits, pet portraits or paintings of your home.
